Continuing Medical Education

Through this Unit, we are committed to the training, participation and research of medical personnel with an interest in dermatology, to share useful knowledge for daily professional practice. We regularly update information of interest, and promote new knowledge through virtual meetings (formerly face-to-face), academic projects, and promotion of content in social networks.

In addition, during the year we held monthly updating lectures for dermatologists and health personnel of the Institution. Together, we collaborate with the production of educational material that enriches the scientific knowledge of the medical community.

Human talent and collaborators

Aurora has an important academic and research trajectory thanks to its human talent, the volume of patients and the quality of the services provided, all of this by executing its own projects or in association with other institutions such as universities.

Its interdisciplinary group of collaborators in specialized continuing education is highly qualified and always seeks scientific and human quality at every moment of care. Several professionals are undergraduate Medicine teachers and postgraduate Dermatology teachers, have advised graduate degree projects and are linked to the UPB Dermatology research group (recognized by MinCiencias), are junior-MinCiencias researchers, and have recent publications in indexed journals on histopathology, pathological alterations in nails and skin diseases.

The Aurora Research Unit has a Research Committee, in which the guidelines of the area are discussed and the projects to be executed in the institution are evaluated. In the projects of interest to Aurora, guidance, advice and support are provided for the execution of the research processes and compliance with the commitments made.

The Aurora Research Unit It is articulated with the clinical service provision units and also with the continuing medical training and social responsibility units. Aurora has teaching-service agreements in place for students and residents to do their internships and rotations, and has organized various national and international academic events through the continuing medical training unit. In addition, it carries out social appropriation of knowledge activities from its social responsibility unit focused on educational strategies for the prevention and management of skin cancer.
